Abstract

Proverbs are experienced words uttered by our ancestors to channelize the younger generation. There are two types of proverbs 1) direct proverbs, 2) metaphorical proverbs. Both types of proverbs delivers the meaning based upon the time and situation in which it has been uttered. Metaphorical proverbs might be originated in different manner, but when the person conceives and conveys the same, it could create a different effect on the listener. The metaphorical proverbs creates changed amidst the listener. Till now, researches based on metaphorical proverbs is carried out a little, and we try to work on this title at this juncture. To identify some of the metaphorical proverbs related to ancestral Tamil community , and the effects that has been created amidst the people and to carry out a research on the structural and conceptualization of such proverbs are the paradigm of current work.
