The Srikalahasti Temple is located in the  Tirupati district in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Shiva in his aspect as Vayu is worshipped as Kalahasteeswara. The temple is also regarded as Dakshina Kailasam. According to regional tradition, it is said to be the site where Kannappa was ready to offer both his eyes to cover blood flowing from the linga before Shiva stopped him and granted him moksha. Snakes, elephants, spiders etc. are also worshiped in this place. This article aims to underline the travel experiences of the benefactors who traveled to Kalatthi mentioned in Panniru Thirumurai. panniru thirumurai is the collection of twelve holy scriptures written by  Nayanmars.  These are the highly respected scriptures of thamiz shaivites.

ஆய்வுச்சுருக்கம்

            மனித வாழ்வில் தவிர்க்க இயலாத கூறு பயணமாகும்.  மனித வாழ்க்கை தொடங்கிய நாள்முதல் பயணம் செல்லுதலும் தொடங்கிவிட்டது.  ஓரிடத்திலிருந்து மற்றொரு இடத்திற்கு ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனும் பயணம் செய்ய வேண்டிய சூழல் உருவாகின்றது.  அந்த வகையில் தமிழ் இலக்கியங்கள் பயண இலக்கியம் என்ற இலக்கியங்கள் மூலம் இதனை நெறிப்படுத்துகின்றது.  எனவே, பயண இலக்கியம் என்பது சங்க காலம் தொட்டு இன்றளவும் தோன்றிய இலக்கியங்களிலும் காணப்பட்டு அமைகின்றது.

பஞ்சபூதத் தலங்களுள் காற்றுத் தலமாக விளங்குவது திருக்காளத்தித் தலமாகும்.  இத்தலத்தில் பாம்பு, யானை, சிலந்தி முதலிய அஃறிணை உயிர்களும்கூட வழிபட்டு முத்தியினைப் பெற்றுள்ளது.  அத்தகைய சிறப்பு கொண்ட இத்தலம் நாயன்மார்களால்  பாடல் பெற்ற  தலமாகவும் விளங்குகிறது.   பன்னிரு திருமுறையில் காளத்திக்குப் பயணித்த அருளாளர்களின் பயணஅனுபவப் பதிவுகளையும்  அதனுடன் தொடர்புடைய   செய்திகளையும்  அடிக்கோடிட்டுக் காட்டும்  நோக்கில் இக்கட்டுரை  அமைகின்றது.
