Abstract

Abstract

            Sangam literature is an ancient literature that originated in Tamil land. There is a lot of information about people's life, culture and other living things. Through them we can learn about the organisms that live on land and water. The aquatic fauna recorded in the Sanga literature, which is part of the Sanga literature, contains a lot of information about their anatomy and habitat. Aayirai, arel, shrimp, kelira, carp, kolamin, shark, perumin, varal, swordfish and otter are displayed along with their peculiarities. Palatinate literature is a treasure trove of diverse disciplinary ideas. Studies in the field of bioecology are increasing nowadays. Such studies are also beneficial for the global movement. When this kind of research in literature takes place by presenting the ancient literature, one can feel the inheritance of the ancients. In this way the Old Tamil people have recorded the characteristics of the creatures in their environment in their ancient literature, the Sangha Literature. This review article examines aquatic animals, the manner in which they are shot, and records of their habitats, among the aquatic species that constitute the only domestic literature.

            சங்க இலக்கியங்கள் தமிழ்  நிலத்தில் தோன்றிய தொன்மைவாய்ந்த இலக்கியங்கள். அவற்றில் மக்கள் வாழ்வியல், பண்பாடு, பிற உயிரின வாழ்வியல் எனப் பரவிக்கிடக்கும் தகவல்கள் ஏராளம். அவற்றின் மூலமாக நிலத்திலும் நீரிலும் வாழக்கூடிய உயிரினங்களைப்பற்றி அறிந்துகொள்ள முடிகிறது. சங்க இலக்கியங்களுள் ஒருபகுதியான சங்க அக இலக்கியங்களில் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ள  நீர்வாழ் விலங்கினங்கள் அவற்றின் உடலமைப்பு வாழிடம் என்ற  பல தகவல்களைக் கொண்டமைந்துள்ளன. அயிரை, ஆரல், இறால், கெளிறு, கெண்டை, கொழுமீன், சுறா, பெருமீன், வரால், வாளை ஆகிய மீன்களும் நீர்நாயும் அவற்றின் சில தனித்தன்மைகளுடன் காட்சிப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன.
