The Dudu texts occupy a special place in Tamil literature. Among these, 'Tamilvidu Dhootu' is a remarkable book, in which a heroine who falls in love with Madurai's Chokkanatha sings about Tamil. The book meticulously records many dimensions of the society of the time, particularly education, art, politics, economic status, ways of life, beliefs and social systems. This research paper examines in detail the sociological ideas embodied in Tamilvidu Dhootu. It examines how the book reflects not only the glories of the Tamil language, but also the day-to-day life of the community, values, social discrimination and ideas about social cohesion. It also explores how social perspectives are embedded in the prophetic literary tradition, revealing the book's contribution to social studies across time.
