Abstract

TheruKoothu stories have been divided into Banvalsar stories and Banvalsarar stories. The stories appearing in the books published by P. Ratnanayakar and Sons as Banvalsarar stories; and the stories that are told by the performers through hearing and learning orally and through observation have been studied. It can be seen that the Bharatakathas in the Terukkuttu panuvals are based on the panuvals of Perunthevanar, Villiputhurar and Nallapillai. From these original panuvals, the Puranas are divided into one part, one branch in one part, one branch in one section, and one branch in one branch. In the creation of TheruKoothu panuvals, the verses belong to Villiputhurar and Perunthevanar, while the songs, poems, and kandharthams are written and performed by trained instrumentalists. In the Theru Koothu performance area, mostly traditional stories are performed as Koothu. Koothu stories are found with and without Puranamsar. This article examines whether the stories found in street stories are presented as mythological stories and non-mythological stories (novels).
